Well, let's try to recap episode 3 titled "Jughead". So make sure you had your coffee, it's a long one. Where do we begin? This episode was packed with information and clues so we'll just discuss the main characters to make it easy. For starters,we learn that Desmond and Penny have a baby and by present time, the baby is now about three years old and his name is, you guessed it 'Charlie'(many of you had that pegged). Now, Desmond does make it to Harvard but quickly finds out that no one has heard of Professor Faraday. Feeling unsure, he stumbles upon his laboratory and in doing so is greeted by a custodian. In their conversation, he learns about Faraday leaving a woman 'behind' and in further investigating not understanding what they mean by 'behind', he decides to visit the woman at her home. He learns through the woman's sister that the woman is now bedridden and goes in and out of different stages of her life, sometimes returning as a three year old, sometimes older. Now as we're watching, it's hard not to see that this may be a case of the woman time traveling and some how not being able to recover but we'll have to see what comes of this story. Back to the woman, the sister of the woman reveals that if it weren't for Daniel's benefactor, Mr. Widmore, they would not know what they would have done. Quickly Desmond learns that Mr. Widmore had been financing Daniel's experiments and goes to visit him for further information. Mr. Widmore surprised by the visit and all that Desmond has discovered, gives him the address for Daniel's mother, which we learn lives in L.A. We're left off with Desmond and Penny deciding to go track her down in L.A.
Now Daniel. He's a confusing one and just when you think he's harmless, you start to wonder. Why did he leave that girl in a vegetative state? What did he do to her? What's he up to on the island and why did we get a flashback in previous episodes showing him disguised as an 'other' worker and down in one of the stations in what appears to be set in some time in the past? We see in this episode, Daniel confess his love to Charlotte while being held captive by the 'others' and it's revealed that "Jughead" is a Hydrogen bomb and that the current time is 1954. In the lasts frames with Daniel, we see that Charlotte passes out with a bleeding nose and we're left to figure out, has she succumb to the illness (that happens when you time travel) or can Daniel save her?

Locke and Richard Alpert. Locke determined to find Richard, marches down in the camp with Sawyer and Latin speaking Juliette straggling behind. This is the same camp where Charlotte, Daniel and Miles are being held captive. Richard meets Locke but doesn't recognize him. Locke then says, that Jacob sent him. Richard agrees to talk with him and is quickly brought to speed on all that has been happening to Locke and the group. Not knowing what to say, Richard is stumped by all the information. Locke then tells him if you don't believe me, then go find me. I'll be born in 1956. For those who really pay attention, in season 4, we see Richard did in fact visit Locke as a child and brings along a handful of trinkets, one of them being the old compass that Locke hands back to Richard in this episode. He then asks young Locke to choose one. The young Locke chooses the knife and Richard unhappy with his choice, walks away. Hmm, what does it all mean?
One more thing to mention, we see one of the young men from the 'others' reveal his name as Widmore, Charles Widmore. Well, well, well. Can't they take him out? Probably not, because changing the future is not allowed in this world we called 'lost'. Till next week...
