
So, you did a job search, went to interviews and now you've secured a job. Now what?
Well the first thing you should do is get your employer to sign a work permit, so you can legally begin to work.
Getting a work permit is really quite simple to do. You're high school should have a career center, if it doesn't, go to the main office and ask where you can find a work permit.
Once you get your hands on a work permit, simply take it to your employer, have it signed, take it back to school and your school will sign and file the paperwork. The work permit should be good for a stated amount of time (you can ask your career center about this). Remember to renew your permit when it expires.
