1960s Hairstyles: Mischa Barton

Vintage hair can work wonders.

The occasions in which I actually admire former OC star Mischa Barton have been few during the past few years, but I have to admit I'm digging the look she sported to the Christian Dior Spring 2009 Couture fashion show this week.

The actress looked quite pretty with a mildly-voluminous half-up, half-down hairstyle that was just gentle enough to look effortless. Unlike fellow beehive-wearer Amy Winehouse, Mischa Barton's hair is quite neatly pinned up into its cone-shaped crown, with soft curls complementing the height.

To pull together the entire vintage look, Mischa went heavy on the eyeliner in a near-Winehouse cat shape while leaving her lips relatively nude. It helps that she's wearing a gorgeous Christian Dior dress, too--but that's harder to pull off at home.
