Blue State Digital behind the 1984 Hillary Ad

A company called Blue State Digital has fired an employee responsible for the now famous 1984 Hillary Clinton attack ad. The ad has circulated widely on YouTube and is a "Big Brother" spoof video. Now get this - it's been viewed online more than one million times.

As the 1984 ad has gained popularity, bloggers have been calling for the identity of the person who created and posted the video. All's been silent, till now.

Blue State Digital is currently working for the Barack Obama campaign - and Barack himself claimed that he wasn't responsible for the attack ad. So... did the Barack camp encourage the viral video, or is this just a case of an employee gone rogue ?

For some context.... Blue State Digital was founded by people who worked on Howard Dean's campaign team/ They made a splash in the last election by raising millions of dollars in grassroots online campaigns, and proving that the Internet was a powerful force in modern politics.

The video is a powerful metaphore and delivers a strong message. Its pretty darn well done. The person who made it might have lost his or her job, but their resume just got a lot stronger.
