We've compiled the accounts of our voting experiences to create a window into what's happening on the ground. Obviously there is some selection bias since we're a Silicon Valley-based company, but our accounts represent several parts of the greater Bay Area. Jake Swearingen Associate Editor, Zimbio.com Polling Station: 1045 Capp St., San Francisco, CA 94110 Time: 7:55 a.m. For me, voting was the exact opposite of pimping – it was easy. Republican Vice Presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin addresses supporters during a campaign stop October 27, 2008 in Leesburg, Virginia at J.R.'s Festival Lakes. (Photo by Win McNamee/Getty Images North America) One week. That's all there is. It's only one week until the most meaningful day of our lives. The day when "Who's Nailin' Paylin?" hits the shelves at adult bookstores across the country. Hustler's "Who's Nailin' Paylin" brings sexism to the forefront of the election with its Nov. 4 release date. This election has brought out the worst in terms of racism, sexism and even ageism. I don't mean to make light of the ... Read Full Story

Plumber Joe Wurzelbacher speaks to the media, October 16, 2008, outside of his home in Holland, Ohio. Wurzelbacher was referred to frequently by presidential candidates Republican U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ ) and Democrat U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) during last night's third debate as "Joe the Plummer". (Photo by J.D. Pooley/Getty Images North America) The day after the final presidential debate was characterized by speculation and excavation. While pundits and bloggers waxed poll -itical on McCain's chances in an election that seems to be slipping away from him, reporters dug up everything they could find on last night's real debate superstar: Joe the ... John McCain and his running mate Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and their spouses Todd Palin and Cindy McCain hold a campaing rally at the Giant Center October 28, 2008 in Hershey, PA. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images North America) If John McCain loses the election Tuesday, what will Sarah Palin do? With five days left until this whole crazy thing comes crashing to a racuous anticlimax, that's the question I've been pondering. And it seems I'm not alone. Bloggers, television commentators and columnists are all getting in on the speculation. Even Sarah Palin can't keep from projecting past Tuesday... much ... Read Full Story

Tourist Terri Garren of Olympia Washington, takes a picture near life size bronze statues of men standing in a line during the hard times of the great depression at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial October 21, 2008 in Washington, DC. Parts of the memorial depict the hard times caused by the great depression during the beginning of the four terms of the FDR administration. (Photo by Mark Wilson/Getty Images North America) Given the number of pictures I've seen lately of Depression-era breadlines, this photograph of the FDR Memorial in Washington, D.C., seemed appropriate. It's become popular lately to look back at the Great Depression ... Read Full Story

It is a good thing the American Constitution calls for instant run-off presidential elections the minute the "winner" dips below 50% approval, or else we would be stuck with the most unpopular president in American history for years to come. Thankfully Sarah Palin may now take her rightful place as America's "Commanderin' Chief" because Barack Obama is polling at 49% in the daily Gallup tracking poll. As Gallup notes, this is an...
