Yesterday, all signs were looking a little bleak for my gas efficient car in my lovely community. Literally every gas station was out, and the one or two that still had some gas, had lines down the street. I didn't bother to join the crowd because I thought I had enough to hold me...until I realized that my gas was leaving my tank faster than ever. I never really thought I would see a gas shortage especially since the damage from hurricane Ike was only about 6% of the supplies. But, apparently, in Nashville, there was a gas shortage today which caused a mad rush to the gas stations. Come on now, is this really attributed to Ike? I personally think that the rumors of shortage have increased the demand and thus the shortage. Of course, people rushing to stock up on gas in a frenzy will also add to the shortage which happened today in Nashville. Panic causes more problems.
