PBS' Gwen Ifill by Sharon Kyle All this talk on Fox News about Gwen Ifill’s objectivity being compromised because she has a soon to be released book entitled, “Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama” sounds a lot like much ado about nothing. I did a little searching and found that PBSs Jim Lehrer, moderator of several consecutive presidential debates dating back twenty years is quite a prolific author. According to Amazon.com, Jim Lehrer has authored at least 17 novels. In fact, his newest release, “Mack to the Rescue (Stories and Storytellers)” was released in hardcover in May 2008. The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama Author: Gwen Ifill Click The Pic To Buy Yes, folks. That would be Gwen Ifill in no way to be confused with Gwenn Eyefull. It took years of study and research to write this epic look into the literal ones of years that comprise the “Age Of Obama”, but Gwen came through. Despite the fact that this earlier civilization didn’t keep the best records, Gwenn was able to compile some great data. ... Read Full Story

I have been made an effort since I started writing this blog to make as much of it “original content” as possible, and to avoid merely “commenting” on other stories. However, sometimes I just cannot let a news story go by without interjecting. Today is such a day. You see, today we have reached an all time low in terms of media credibility. Its not enough that so called “independent” pundits like Chris Matthews admit to getting tingly when Obama speaks (watch him admit that here ) or that the Washington Post admitted they have been covering Obama three times as much as McCain ... First, Happy Birthday to one of my favorite journalists, Gwen Ifill ! Gwen hosts Washington Week with Gwen Ifill and is a and is a senior correspondent on The Newshour with Jim Lehrer . Gwen also has the distinction of moderating this Thursday's Vice Presidential debate between candidates Joe Biden and Sarah Palin. I'm sure Gwen will handle it with characteristic aplomb, which may be no small feat given the two she's dealing with. McCain's erratic behavior last week , allegedly "suspending the campaign" to rush back to Washington (though detouring for 22 hours to offer himself as an interview subject to Katie Couric ...
