I don't know why that guy is stripped to his skivvies, but I can guess why he has duct tape wrapped around the waistband. It's to prevent anyone from pulling down his underwear and exposing his li'l Philly.
Of course the behavior pictured above is no where near as bad as things got in Philadelphia following the Phillies' Game Six triumph over the Tampa Bay Rays.
Philadelphia went crazy Wednesday night as fans flooded Broad Street to celebrate the win by busting windows, looting stores, destroying bus stops and flipping cars. Amateur videos of the insanity have flooded YouTube and Philadelphia's Channel 6 ABC News, and police have taken notice.
The Philly boys in blue are requesting that anyone with amateur video of the rioting come forward so they can more easily identify suspects in the many cases of theft and vandalism. More than 75 people have so far been arrested for the outlandish behavior, and if the cops get their way, more are coming. One Philadelphian who had his car parked near Broad Street found himself a victim Wednesday night as the vehicle was turned into a heap of dented metal when it was flipped by rioters.
But Ted Passon didn't let that get him down. Instead of sitting back and bemoaning the loss of his car (which his insurance won't cover), he asked the Internet for help. At phillyfixmycar.blogspot.com, Passon is asking for small donations in the hope that they will add up to a new(er) car or a repaired car. Since Channel 6 ABC in Philadelphia covered his story, Passon's case has elicited widespread sympathy. (You can hear his story here.)
