2008: A Year of Weird Facial Expressions

That's just the truth, it happens to everyone and celebrities, athletes and other notable public figures are not immune to the occasional bad photo. Usually these photos are tossed aside, but sometimes they prove to be useful. In this case, these photos are rare gems, and we've collected them to bring you a year in weird facial expressions.
So it might not be fair to capture an athlete in concentration, but honestly his face is totally distorted. We can only imagine the thoughts that are going through Persson Jorgen's head at the ITTF China Table Tennis Open in May, but I like to think they're something like this: "Watch the ball, watch the ball... Oh crap, I watched it so long I forgot to hit the ball!"
Jason Maxiell of the Detroit Pistons finally realizes his lifelong fear of basketballs, as he winces at the sight of one flying towards him, "Oh crap, don't let that thing touch me." It's too bad he's chosen a career in the NBA.
OK, this guy's not famous, but I couldn't resist, his face is priceless as he reacts to the UEFA Champions league final between Manchester United and Chelsea.
Heidi Klum usually has a picture perfect smile plastered on her face, but when McDonald's chicken wraps are around there's really no telling what she will do.
Now, I'm no political genius, but I'd like to think that if Hillary Clinton hadn't made so many weird expressions on her campaign trail, she may have gotten the democratic nomination. Just sayin', she looks a little creepy.
Lily Allen doesn't just throw an embarrassingly weak right jab, but makes a facial expression to match, "Get out of my way or I'll punch you, really softly and then miss, Ugh!"
At the Glastonbury Festival in England this summer James Blunt proved that onstage, mid-performance facial expressions are never the most flattering.
So at this point in his diving routine, the last thing on Nick McCrory's mind is probably the muscles in his face. Still, his face mid-dive is priceless.
"You wish you could make a face like this, but I take your hopes and dreams and smush them in my little Osmand hand."
Celebrities turned out for the Lakers v Spurs game in May, and I have no idea what's happening at this point, but apparently only Antonio Banderas was affected.
