Romantic prom dresses are not hard to come by, but it can be difficult to find the right romantic prom dress for the right price. Fortunately, plenty of retailers are cutting prices this season in the weeks leading up to prom season - which means you can get that romantic look for less, this time around!

A word of advice from a prom expert: choose a dress that looks like it will be fun to move around in. While it's tempting to buy that gigantic silk taffeta gown you've always dreamed about, the simple truth is that the dress isn't going to feel quite so special when you're wrestling with it in a limo. And avoid satins at all costs, unless you plan to stand up the whole time, as the fabric creases easily and will leave you walking around with unsightly wrinkles all over the place.

A dress like this is a great investment, as it can definitely be worn on more than one occasion - and, thanks to its white color, can be paired with any number of accessories. It's a bit more expensive than the other dresses, but may last you a while longer.

This Jill Stuart strapless gown comes in one of the season's most romantic colors, and features a gorgeous drape along the left side. Made of pure silk, this gown looks much more expensive than it actually is - and you'll look red carpet-ready in it. It's available at Bloomingdale's.
