4th of July

Happy La Kermeese! I'm watching the fireworks right now. We got front row seats to the concert and fireworks and we don't even have to leave to house! Can't get out the front door right now, cause there's a Slush Puppy machine and a hot dog stand in the sidewalk. The radio stations are set up in front of my bedroom window. Such excitement going on. Almost everyone I ran into yesterday wished me a “safe” Fourth of July. I realize this is just one of those inane things, like “have a nice day,” that we are programmed to utter. Almost two months ago, on independence day, better known as the Fourth of July, I had the opportunity to coordinate a church picnic and community outreach for Calvary Chapel Miami Beach.  Good for us, that is not the only independence we celebrated on that day, we were also able to share a different kind, our REAL freedom to our neighbors.  Freedom in Christ! On a spur of the moment, we decided to go downtown to see fireworks at Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Hadn't done that in years and decided it was worth checking out locations along Lancaster Street rather than try to horn in on the masses.We found a free parking spot almost right away, somewhat of a tight fit, but didn't care. So I’m planning a BBQ for 4th of July that’s coming up soon, and came up with this paper plate invitation idea. They were fun to make and I was confident that they would impress my guests.
