I grew up in the 80s and remember watching "The Karate Kid" countless times. The Cobra Kai, the renegade group of karate teenagers included leader Johnny Lawrence, Bobby, Tommy and the psychopath Dutch. Here were a group of teenagers that expended a lot of energy on beating up Daniel Larusso, and making his life a nightmare. They actually almost kill him in one scene by throwing him down a hill while he was riding his bike home. Is it just me or do movies these days seem to not be as good as movies from the 80s? With movies like The Princess Bride, Back to The Future, and Ghostbusters, the 80s are hard to beat. Movies these days just seem to be lacking something in my opinion, but I'm not sure exactly what that is. Sure, there are some good movies coming out today, but most of them are underwhelming.
