A Bathing Ape

The Bape Skullsta is set to start off the new year on a high note, with this collection of three elaborate collaboration models. Last Orgy Two and NOWHERE being the initial brands of Nigo and Jun Takahashi prior to the founding of their respective companies, Bape and UNDERCOVER, the pack recognizes the designers’ roots with commemorative heel tabs. In a retro of some of their previously released pieces, Jun Takahashi (of UNDERCOVER) and NIGO (of A BATHING APE) unveil their LO2 Reprint Stadium Jumper jacket seen here. The jacket comes as part of the NOWHERE initiative which was recently revived which saw its part as a seminal player in the Harajuku movement of the early 1990s. The collection will include a few different colors including red, green, navy, black (NOWHERE HONG KONG exclusive), Purple (A BATHING APE exclusive) and all-black (UNDERCOVER exclusive). Recently we previewed for you a collection of A Bathing Ape’s Bapesta silhouette that got “ checkered ” treatment. However, it seems as though Bape is checking (no pun intended) out how that scheme fits in with its Roadsta silhouette also. Three colorways of the Roadsta check include brown/blue, green/black, and grey/black. While the light color scheme on the first pair makes the checkered pattern stand out, the other two pairs’ darker colorways make the pattern a little more covert. A Bathing Ape recently prepared a set of two pairs of the Bapesta in crocodile leather. But a more recent Bape release included a set of checkered accessories. And now, we’re here to bring you a look at the three corresponding pairs of the Bapesta “Check.” All three come with a predominantly white base.
