A homeless 4.0 GPA student at Griffin Technical College that was displaced by Hurricane Katrina is presently sleeping in a 95 Ford Explorer in Riverdale, Ga. The student was denied foodstamps by Clayton County-DFAS because she is not working at least 20-hours/wk while attending school. A FEMA representative informed her that her case was closed because THEY did not meet their deadline on February 28, 2007. Letters / emails has been sent to the Congressman of District 13, the Mayor of Riverdale, the Whitehouse and to the Speaker of the House and yet nothing has been accomplished in two-years.

The displaced victim has been denied assistance with housing because she was not on section 8, public housing or living in a HUD home prior to the hurricane. They are only helping them first.

Her statement: Cynthia McKinney, Green Party Presidential candidate, charged the Department of Defense with the cover-up of 5,000 execution-style deaths during the chaotic aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in September 2005 on September 28. She related that an anonymous mother told her that her son had processed 5,000 corpses, mostly male, with a single bullet wound to the head and entered the results ... Read Full Story

In 2002, Billy McKinney was back in the spotlight for an interview he gave about her campaign in which he said, "Jews have bought...

One year ago this week, Farm Sanctuary came to the rescue of hundreds of "broiler" chickens suffering on a factory farm in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Today, many of the birds rescued in this case have passed away due to chronic health issues caused by their unnatural breeding. Many others have been adopted into loving, permanent homes outside of Farm Sanctuary. The rest, more than 200 precious souls, remain at our New York Shelter, where...
