Today, the bust of Sojourner Truth was unveiled in the during a gala celebration held in Emancipation Hall of the United States Capital.Created by Artis Lane, the bust was completely funded through private funds ans will remain on permanent display in the underground visitor center's main space, called Emancipation Hall in part because slaves helped build the Capitol. Amnesty International has just released plans for a Global Day of Action for Troy Davis. As I reported here, Troy's latest and last appeal for a new trial was denied and his stay of execution will expire on May 15, 2009.
