You know when you start seeing yellows, reds and spider webs, the fall is around the corner. My favorite seasons are spring and fall. I enjoy the summer and winter also, but seems like spring and fall has the perfect temperature balance which I can handle. However, if I put the temperature factor aside, each season is unique and brings me always something different to photograph.

This weekend, during a long weekend - on Sunday we were able to get through our regular 3-4 hour bike route, and on Monday we packed stuff and drove to Presqu'ile Provincial Park, Brighton, Ontario. Just to emphasize, this year I started to focus more on bird photography, the reason was that birds are always around, how many times can you go bear watching or moose watching - I bet you will agree that it is more a specialized task. However, if bear comes around he/she will become my focus point.

As I mention, the fall is around the corner, and birds are migrating, so even though Presqu'ile Park is on every bird watcher's list, we didn't find many birds - but I was lucky to observe quite large size woodpecker - the Pileated Woodpecker.

Beside bird watching and beautiful sandy beaches along the Lake Ontario, the month of August is the peak for Monarch butterflies - and I missed it. In August, about 10 000 of them is clinging to the tree branches, resting before their long 3 700 km trip to Mexico. However, some of them are still around and hovering over the flower beds.
