Since 1975 there has existed on the west coast of the United States a community whose sole function is to facilitate sharing of services among the members. This community is not a barter club, in that services are freely shared, not traded. That is to say, there's no balancing out between services given and services received. This portal will explore the structure of this community, and provide a model for creating similar communities in other locales.
