AJ Foyt Replaces Donald Trump as Indy 500 Pace Car Driver

AJ Foyt will be replacing Donald Trump as the Indy 500 pace car driver for the race's 100th anniversary. Don't be too disappointed though because AJ Foyt probably should have Indianapolis 500 Logo.pngbeen asked before Donald Trump anyway. AJ was the first Indianapolis 500 four-time winner during the 1961, 1964, 1967 and 1977 races so who better to choose than him?

The Indy 500 race is set to take place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 29. AJ Foyt will not only be driving the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Pace Car but he will also be celebrating the 50th anniversary of his first ever Indy 500 win there.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Foyt stated: "Since I won my first Indy 500 50 years ago, I had hoped to still be racing in it, but driving the Pace Car is the next best thing! Seriously, racing has always been very important in my life - it's been my life - and the Indianapolis 500 is the most important race in the world. I lived for that race. When I got hurt in race cars, I always made it back for Indy because it is that important. That's where people know me from - Indy. So being asked by my good friend Mari George to drive the Chevy Pace Car for the 100th anniversary of the Indy 500 - well, I couldn't have a bigger honor come from the Speedway and the Hulman-George family."

It's obvious that AJ Foyt probably appreciates this amazing opportunity more than Donald Trump ever could have. It will be amazing to see him driving around the ol' track once more. As for Trump, he has several things going on anyway. He's dealing with Wanda Sykes calling him and Birthers "racists" and he's got that whole 2012 presidential run thing to ponder.
