Gennaro Gattuso has reacted furiously to losing his place as a regular starter with AC Milan by demanding a meeting with vice-president Adriano Galliani. The Italy international, who is under contract with the Rossoneri until June 2011, has seen his minutes on the pitch decrease this term after coach Leonardo changed the side's formation. The Brazilian coach has made captain Massimo Ambrosini and Andrea Pirlo his first choice midfield pairing, with Mathieu Flamini providing cover. And with former England captain David Beckham due to arrive in the new year, midfield competition is set to get even tougher for the 31-year-old. "I am Rino Gattuso ... Read Full Story

His motto, quoted from his own website, states that he would play at AC Milan even as a goalkeeper. But Gennaro Gattuso, international midfielder who turns 32 in January, may be close to bidding farewell to the club where he won one Serie A scudetto and two European titles - let alone the World Cup with Italy in 2006. After 10 seasons spent growling at forwards ahead of the Devils' defence package, Ringhio, or Growl, as he is known, seems to have problems finding a spot in the line-up designed by new coach Leonardo. Gattuso has not yet commented on the rumours of a ... Read Full Story

Napoli scored two goals in injury time to hold 10-man AC Milan to a draw in Serie A on Wednesday and end the seven-time European champions recent winning run. Juventus went second in the table as they thrashed high-flying Sampdoria, who drop to third, 5-1 in Turin. But the real drama came in Naples where late goals from Luca Cigarini and German Denis earned Napoli a richly deserved point after Ignazio Abate was sent off four minutes from time. Having developed a habit of starting slowly this season, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani had promised president, and Italy Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi that they would ... Read Full Story

Ronaldinho inspired AC Milan to only their third win of the season with a come-from-behind 2-1 success against AS Roma at the San Siro on Sunday. While the first half in Milan belonged to Roma's French winger Jeremy Menez, it was Ronaldinho who starred after the break, scoring one and creating the other - and quite possibly saving countryman Leonardo's job as coach. The result moved Milan up to eighth in the Serie A table with Roma dropping to 11th. And yet Roma, and Menez in particular, tore Milan apart in the first half. But it was with a helping hand from Milan centre-back ... Read Full Story
