AJ Allmendinger will make his debut in a Ford this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, and the Richard Petty Motorsports driver will compete in Fords for the remaining three NASCAR Sprint Cup races this year as the organization prepares for a planned merger with Yates Racing and a move to the manufacturer in 2010.  

I found it odd that NASCAR decided to place Richard Petty Motorsports driver AJ Allmendinger on probation following his Oct. 29 arrest for driving while impaired.
