A while back I wrote a locale control for ASP.NET that gave you a nice and easy way to plug in a cascading state/province – country control into your ASP.NET websites. Now that I have moved on to using ASP.NET MVC for my new projects I needed the same control, only this time in MVC. Read the full post and download the source here: http://www.schnieds.com/2010/01/aspnet-mvc-locale-user-control.htmlAaron Schniederhttp://www.churchofficeonline.com

In my previous post, I mentioned that Area is one of the thing that the coming ASP.NET MVC2 needs heavy enhancements (I also created an Issue in CodePlex). The idea was, Area should have dynamic registering/unregistering support instead of registering all the area at the application start. Recently, I was playing with the Area and trying to find out what are the issues (specially road blocks) for adding such support and it turns out the issue...

There has been also two additional...

Last week also delivered onto us a release candidate for ASP.NET MVC 2. MVC is a model-view-controller framework on top of the existing ASP.NET runtime that separates display and application logic as well as makes test-driven development of ASP.NET applications easier. MVC could be used with a variety of types of web applications but is frequently associated with REST applications. Coming just a few weeks after the beta release (older...

When we released ASP.NET MVC 2 Beta back in November, I addressed the issue of support for Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2. Unfortunately, because Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 and ASP.NET MVC 2 Beta share components which are currently not in sync, running ASP.NET MVC 2 Beta on VS10 Beta 2 is not supported. The release candidate for ASP.NET MVC 2 does not change the situation, but I wasn’t as clear as I could have been about what the situation is...
