Aaron Cook Feels Fine After Extended Spring Training Outing

Colorado Rockies sinker-baller Aaron Cook hasn’t pitched this year after breaking his right ring finger by closing a door on it. That injury followed an earlier case of shoulder tendinitis, and the Rockies placed him on the 60-day DL last month, retroactive to March 22. There is some good news for Cook and the Rockies, though. From the Rockies’ official Twitter feed:

Aaron Cook threw 3.0 inn. & tossed 35 pitches in a start in extended spring training today. Feels healthy after.

The next step, then, would be to get Cook some rehab appearances in the minors. Even if things go well, though, he isn’t going to be rushed back. According to Rotoworld, because the Rockies moved him to the 60-day DL, he isn’t eligible to come back until June 13.
