(Akron Aeros) According to ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick, the San Diego Padres have acquired Cleveland Indian minor-league pitcher Cory Burns in exchange for outfielder Aaron Cunningham. Burns (6′-1”, 180 lb) is a 24-year-old right-hander drafted by the Indians in the eighth round of the 2009 amateur draft. Cameron Maybin has been out for the last four ballgames with a sore right knee and will now be placed on the disabled list to rest his knee. To replace Maybin on the roster, the Padres have called up outfielder Aaron Cunningham from Triple-A Tucson. Cunningham is batting .292 with 5 HR and 42 RBI down at Tucson and would be splitting time with Blake Tekotte and Chris Denorfia in the outfield.
