Aaron Lewis’ Debut Single “Country Boy” Certified Gold - 2011-09-23
Posted by: Sara ReadAaron Lewis’ debut single as a solo artist, Country Boy, has been certified gold having sold over 500,000 copies.
Best known as the lead singer of the rock group Staind, Lewis embarked on a solo career and brought along legends George Jones and Charlie Daniels to help. The song blends classic country and modern country as Lewis tells his story like never before.
The single has earned Lewis two CMT Award nominations, “Collaborative Video of the Year” and “USAWeekend Breakthrough Video of the Year” (awarded to the best video from an artist's major breakthrough album). The song is featured on Lewis’ critically acclaimed debut solo EP Town Line released earlier this year on Nashville’s R&J Records.
Produced by legendary Nashville producer James Stroud and Lewis, Town Line debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and #7 on the Top 200 Albums Chart. Town Line has also drawn critical praise from a wide variety of writers, including People’s Chuck Arnold who said "He proves to be a natural on nostalgic ballads like 'The Story Never Ends,’" while Associated Press’ Michael McCall wrote, “He injects a flavor of his own into a polished, commercial country sound in a way that could win over country fans who've never heard of Staind.” Country Weekly’s Jessica Phillips noted, "The songs here are rich with imagery, coupled with soulful arrangements, and should appeal to fans of Darius Rucker and Lady Antebellum."
