Coming off back-to-back victories over two of the NFL's worst teams, the Green Bay Packers are carrying more confidence into Sunday's rematch with Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings. They are missing a couple of targets in their passing game, though. The Packers dominated in Sunday's 31-3 victory at Cleveland, one week after their 26-0 dismissal of Detroit. Now they're ready to take another shot at Favre and the Vikings, who beat the Packers by a touchdown earlier this month. And this game will be at Lambeau Field. "Our confidence is high, and it well should be," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. "We're growing ... Read Full Story

The Browns were no distraction. The Green Bay Packers can now focus on Brett. Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes, Ryan Grant rushed for 148 yards and Green Bay warmed up for Brett Favre's first visit back to Lambeau Field next week with a 31-3 laugher Sunday over the Cleveland Browns, who got over the flu but can't shake other problems. It would have been understandable if the Packers (4-2) had overlooked an inferior opponent with their eyes on Favre's hyped return to Wisconsin with the Minnesota Vikings. But Rodgers and his teammates took care of business against the Browns (1-6), who have scored ... Read Full Story

Aaron Rodgers is a big music fan and his newest hobby is playing guitar. On the field, the Packers quarterback is keeping Green Bay's offense in rhythm, too. A year removed from the distractions of Brett Favre's annual unretirement saga and with No. 4's latest comeback 280 miles west in Minneapolis, Rodgers has been sharp and looked comfortable in two exhibition wins. "We're doing some really good things. I think the key is it starts up front. I think the guys — in two games, I haven't been sacked, really haven't been touched — and it gives you a lot of confidence as a ... Read Full Story

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is entering his second season as a starter more comfortable, more confident and fully embraced by the fans. Other than one teenager wearing a No. 4 New York Jets jersey, fans who showed up to watch the Green Bay Packers' first day of practice Saturday seemed solidly behind Rodgers. Last year, Brett Favre's unretirement saga split fan loyalties between the team's once and future leaders. "I think Aaron proved himself for the fans to be able to stand behind him and give that support," running back Ryan Grant said. "But it's always nice. We rally around that support. ... The Green Bay Packers canceled their family night scrimmage on Saturday after strong thunderstorms swept through the area, leaving more than 50,000 fans without an early season football fix. The Packers knew that this year's scrimmage would lack the off-field drama of last year's event when Brett Favre returned days before his eventual trade to the New York Jets. Turns out, it lacked any on-field drama, too. Heavy rains began about 15 minutes before the scrimmage was scheduled to begin with players just finishing warmups and the lightning never let up. After a delay of an hour and a half, the event was called. ... Read Full Story

Green Bay has borrowed much from Pittsburgh PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Steelers’ fingerprints can be found all over the Green Bay Packers’ playbook and game plans. Aaron Rodgers hears the Pittsburghese in Mike McCarthy’s voice whenever he gets angry, and the Packers’ postgame snack Sunday in their coach’s hometown will be his favorite pizza.

The holiday season is here and, evidently, so are the Packers. Their five-game win streak has been largely ignored by everyone outside of Wisconsin—although, the Chargers have had the same treatment for the last eight—as the defense has been a terrible monster for opposing offenses. When the Green Bay Packers travel to Heinz Field on Sunday, Dec. 20, to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers, it will be a meeting of the NFL's top two run defenses. Ryan Grant and Rashard Mendenhall: Get ready for a frustrating day. Looking at the statistics, naming the better run defense of these two teams becomes nearly impossible. The Steelers lead the league, allowing only 84.9 rushing yards per game while the Packers allow 85.0 YPG. Green Bay...
