Aaron Rowand and the Philadelphia Phillies avoided a huge collapse Monday night and gained some much-needed ground on the New York Mets, whose fans are nearing the brink of suicide watch after a fourth straight loss.Rowand prevented the tying and go-ahead runs with a spectacular tumbling catch at the warning track to end the eighth inning, as the Phillies out-played the St. Louis Cardinals 13-11, damn near blowing an 11-run lead earlier in the game."I'm telling you, you never have enough runs...Read Full Story

Hot/Cold: Aaron Rowand isn’t this good and other observations

By ballhyped on  From ballhyped.com
http://www.GoldenGateGiants.com: TS Eliot once wrote that April is the cruelest month, and if two English degrees taught me anything it’s that he was obviously writing about baseball. April can be cruel in many ways: it can fool you into thinking things you know aren’t true, yet it allows you juuuuust enough hope to think this [...]View and VoteRead Full Story

White Sox Interested In Rowand?

By mlbrumors on  From elismlbrumors.blogspot.com
The White Sox reportedly have some interest in Giants outfielder Aaron Rowand. Rowand, who his hitting .290 with 2 HR in 31 at-bats this season, is a career .283 hitter. The White Sox are looking to add a center fielder after learning that DeWayne Wise separated his shoulder in the outfield. The Giants would have to take on a serious portion of his 44 million dollar contract to make this trade happen, and at this point the Giants may not be looking to trade their vetera outfielder. This story...Read Full Story

Yanks interested in Rowand?

By Greg C. on  From slidingintohome.blogspot.com
A few weeks ago there was a rumor going around about a Beltran for Cano deal in the works. That rumor turned out to be nothing. I mention that rumor because this one is apparently from the same person - Frank Russo from NY Baseball Digest - so take it with a grain of salt. From NY Baseball Digest: Our sources down in Tampa have informed us that the Yankees will be exploring trade possibilities with the Giants for center fielder Aaron Rowand. It is pretty well known that the Giants are...Read Full Story

Report: Yanks Have Interest in Aaron Rowand

By msilva177 on  From nybaseballdigest.com
Our sources down in Tampa have informed us that the Yankees will be exploring trade possibilities with the Giants for center fielder Aaron Rowand. It is pretty well known that the Giants are interested in upgrading their hitting, which was anemic at times last season, and the Yankees could send a package of players for the speedy outfielder. It remains unclear as to what it would take to bring Rowand, one of the Majors best center fielders, to the Bronx, and no, Robinson Cano’s name has not...Read Full Story

Thanks for that, but screw you.

By GM- Carson on  From pabaseball.blogspot.com
I appreciate everything Aaron Rowand did for the Phillies. He brought grit and tenacity to the clubhouse, and put up some decent numbers while here only 2 seasons. "The Catch" is a story I'll be telling my son about in years to come. However, I bleed Phillies red and I could give less than two pinches of poop if he ever collects another hit in his career. All I know is that Gillick tried to re-sign Fence-Face to a shorter contract (believed to be 3 years) with substantial money involved where...Read Full Story
