Giants will struggle to score

Even with Barry Bonds in '07, the Giants offense was anemic at best. Fast forward to '08 and Bonds is gone and the Giants have not added any significant pieces to their offense. The acquisition of free agent Center fielder Aaron Rowand from the Phillies is a nice addition, however Rowand is now the man. In Philadelphia he had the likes of Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley to support him. Not so in 'Frisco, the names Bip Roberts, Randy Winn and Omar Vizquel are not likely to strike fear in opposing pitcher's. With Rowand being counted on to provide much of the offense lost when Bonds left, he will most likely struggle. The Giant's young and talented starting pitching will keep them in a lot of games, but the Giants will suffer through a very long year.
