Aaron Smith out in Pittsburgh

By dcw19 on  From bloguin.com
Adam Schefter reported via twitter that the Steelers will be releasing long-time defensive end Aaron Smith. Smith, who many people expected to retire following the 2011 season, has been with the Steelers since 1999. From 2000 to 2008, Smith was extremely durable, missing just five games in that stretch all of which came in the 2007 season. His durability has become a serious issue in the past three seasons, however. Since 2009, Smith has played in a total of 15 games, and it became apparent...Read Full Story

Steelers place Aaron Smith on injured reserve; career likely over

By blitzburghblog on  From blitzburghblog.com
I kind of figured this was going to happen shortly, but it is sad nonetheless: the Steelers placed longtime DE Aaron Smith on injured reserve today, ending his 2011 season and mosty likely his career. Smith had sat out the last 2 games with a foot injury and has had injury issues the last three seasons, tearing his rotator cuff in 2009 and his triceps in 2010. While he never put up lofty sack numbers, Smith was one of the league's best defensive lineman against the run and the Steelers...Read Full Story

Aaron Smith Of 7 Horns 7 Eyes And The "Throes Of Absolution"
7 Horns 7 Eyes debut album has been creating quite a buzz already. The progressive death outfit is not unknown; it has already been around for five years.
