Abe Pollin, who held the record for longest tenure of owning an NBA team, passed away today after a long battle with progressive supranuclear palsy, an uncommon brain disorder. Pollin, who purchased the team in 1964 and owned the team with his wife Irene, also stands in NBA history as the man that fired Michael Jordan.
