[U.S. Embassy Abidjan] General Philippe Mangou, the chief of defense staff under the previous government, has been appointed as Cote d'Ivoire's ambassador to Gabon, says a front-page story in Fraternite Matin. According to the paper, Mangou's nomination was confirmed yesterday during the Council of Ministers meeting presided over by President Ouattara.

[U.S. Embassy Abidjan] A report in Fraternite Matin (p. 5) says that a 15-member delegation from the UN Security Council is currently visiting Cote d'Ivoire as part of a three-nation tour of West Africa. The delegation arrived yesterday in Abidjan and will be travelling to Liberia and Sierra Leone.
