what is acai berry?
The process through which the acai berry goes through is simple but carefully done. Acai is the fruit of a palm mainly found in South America.
Acai is mostly seed, covered in a small amount of pulp. In fact, about 90% of the Acai berry is seed - it is important to note that no one eats the Acai berry seed. Aca? berries hang from these branches in clusters. Local Brazilians shimmy up the trees and cut the short branches from the top rich in berries.
Acai research has shown that in addition to the anthocyanins and essential fatty acids, acai contains huge percentages of plant sterols. Plant sterols and stanols are phytosterols - essential components of plant membranes - that resemble the chemical structure of animal cholesterol.
