I am currently using PanOxyl acnegel 5%. After using it a few days the skin scaly and peeling and the acne spot is difficult to cure. May I know if your views remain at 5% or switch to 2.5%. I read some articles that 2.5% benzoyl peroxide is as effective as 10% benzoyl peroxide with less irritation. How true is this? Your feedback is appreciated.
Reply:I have heard the same thing about 2.5% being just as effective. I've heard this from solutions like ProActiv, Klear Action and similar; and also in a book called "The Acne Cure", which was written by a leading dermatologist/physician. I tried the PanOxyl 5% a long time ago, but it didn't work for me. Since then, I've used various products and think that 2.5% is just as effective, but that is my experience. If your skin is peeling badly, you might want to lower the level, or use a moisturizer if you don't already. Good luck, and the only way to truly know is to try.
