Redskins won't make Free Agent splash this year

I find this statement hard to believe. Of course, in past years, The Daniel has mixed in with his FA spending some ill-fated (and often written about) restricted free agent and draft pick trades (see Mark Brunell, Brandon Lloyd, T.J. Duckett, Adam Archuleta to name a few). In my summation, we still have some anticipation and fretting to do over possible tinkering with the lineup. The standard rhetoric applies--add depth to both lines, look to upgrade at CB for aging Shawn Springs and just off injury Carlos Rogers. But you still get the power play moves, whether agent driven or player initiated, to throw the Redskins into the mix to up the ante. It wouldn't be so bad except most times, half the rumors/speculation is true. And with a rookie head coach in place, the pliability must in satiate The Daniel. For once, I hope that he keeps his pocketbook in check, even for sake of saving money on gas for his private jet, and let this talented team gel one more season.
What the Skins do have:
- An All Pro Running Back in his prime
- An offensive line capable of being one of the best in the league if healthy (3 Pro-Bowlers)
- A top of the line Pro Bowl Tight End
- A promising young passer with confidence and skills who made mistakes last year so he won't have to make them this year
- An improved defensive line against the pass and run.
- A sturdy set of Defensive Backs
- A glue guy in the middle of it all - London Fletcher
Adding moving parts to this team would be a bad thing. The Skins would be perennial playoffers if they would have stopped the constant tinkering back in the Marty days.
