The Cincinnati Reds' Adam Dunn was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks for minor league pitcher Dallas Buck and two players to be named later. Dunn was claimed off waivers, and a trade was worked out. Adam Dunn will be a free agent after this season. The Diamondbacks were in desperate need of a bat. Eric Byrnes and Orlando Hudson are both done for the season. The are also without right fielder Justin Upton for the time being. Dunn is hitting just .233 this year. However, he is tied for the Major League lead in homeruns with 32. He also has 74 RBI. If the Washington Nationals are planning on extending the contract of first baseman Adam Dunn, they had better do it soon because it looks as though the period of contractual sanity is over.   Fearing that Dunn was going to become a free agent at the end of the year in 2008, the Cincinnati Reds traded their all-star slugger to Arizona for prospects. While Scott Rolen is still in the "honeymoon" stage with the Reds, I will be evaluating him on a 40-game season. His hitting is better than average, which should be expected for a .284 lifetime hitter. He didn't exhibit the power that I was so hopeful he would. Wow. Just as I thought the Reds had given up on any hope they had for Ramon Hernandez, he slides in the back door. Cincinnati just signed him to a one-year contract (with options) for $3,000,00. The Reds had declined his $8,000,000 option earlier, and many, including myself, were not sad to see him depart. Ryan Hanigan can play the position for one-eighth of the price or less, and just as well I might add. I had big plans for that money! He...
