Pacman Jones has been reinstated by the NFL, but he will not be able to return until the Dec 7 game against Pittsburg. He will return to practice on Monday. Much has been made of Pacman's brushes with the law and his behavior. Many pundits do not believe that he should get any more chances. I say "Hogwash" to that rationale. As long as the man is not breaking the law to the extent that he is getting put in jail, then he should be able to make a living. Of course, it is up to his employer to decide whether or not he is too big of a distraction, because his off field antics definitely affect the focus of the team. But if a team is willing to pay him, then the league should worry about other matters, like how to get the officiating more accurate. Football players are generally not Saints. The nature of their job is such that they have to be warriors. As a result, you get a lot of unseemly characters, just like in the military. The poster boys for the Marine Corps are all clean-cut handsome men, but go see an infantry platoon that has been fighting a war. You will see some scary characters. Some of them will strike you as being a little unbalanced. They are that way because their job description involves killing people. The same way in the NFL. They also have their share of nut cases, mainly because their job description involves knocking the hell out of their opponents.
