It is rumoured that Pirates clubhouse have traded first baseman Adam LaRoche to the Boston Red Sox for minor league pitcher Hunter Strickland and Double-A shortstop Argenis Díaz. LaRoche was the starting first baseman for the Pittsburgh Pirates, who traded for him in 2007 after he spent three seasons playing for the Atlanta Braves.

The 29 year-old LaRoche became the first player in major league history to have a home run taken away through the use of video replay. Nothing has yet been oficillay confirmed.
