Adam Mazer thanked Jack Kevorkian. (Getty Images)Writers only get celebrated once per year, and last night was a big one for Adam Mazer. He won an Emmy for 'Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special'.
Adam Mazer accepted his Emmy, reminding the audience of the issue at the core of his film. "The end of life debate is not going away. So let's keep talking about it," he said before pointing out the movie's real life subject. "Jack Kevorkian, I'm so grateful you're my friend, I'm even more grateful you're not my physician."
The Emmys are considered the television equivalent to the Academy Awards (for film), Grammy Awards (for music), and Tony Awards (for stage). In other words, they are a BIG deal, especially to those in the TV industry.
