Enjoying a holiday Down Under, Grenier brought his own entourage with him to Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup.
“I’m here with a couple of buddies and we’re hanging out,” Grenier said.
“I’m enjoying the races, just like everyone else.”
But other racegoers didn’t create a stir by switching Birdcage marquees at the 11th hour.
Grenier had been on the Emirates guest list but then supposedly received an offer that was too good to refuse from Lavazza to be its exclusive guest for the day.
The switch was made late Monday night, though there was talk that he had planned to spend the day hopping between the marquees – a no-no for big name stars paid big bucks to be seen in the Birdcage.
TV series Entourage has ended after eight seasons, although there’s talk of a movie, and Grenier was being coy about what happens in the final season.
“That would be cheating,” he said during his marquee appearance.
“You have to actually show up and watch it. But it’s good, trust me.
“There’s a nice resolution to the whole season but there’s also a nice end to leave room for the movie.”
He said the cast and crew had a great time shooting the final season.
“Obviously we didn’t want it to end, but we were happy to be there all the way up until the very very very end.
“There were a lot of sentimental goodbyes after eight years.”
For now though, Grenier says he’s unemployed.
“Now I’m out of work so I get to come down to Australia and have a vacation for the first time in a long time.
“And I’m looking for my next gig.”
He says he has a couple of projects in the works with his production company, and with his production partner has decided they’d like one in Australia.
“We decided yesterday that we want to find a project in Australia so that I can come here and stay for more than a week.
“If anyone out here wants to finance the project, if any writers out here have got a good script, then talk to us because we plan on shooting something right here in Australia.”
