Now granted giving a watch is not new, but it's a great gift and one that your groom will actually make use of. Take a look at these watches by HourPower. ( www.hourpowerwatches.com/collections/grooms-watches.html ). Given to the groom on the couple's wedding day, HourPower Watches offers the wedding couple the perfect gift to preserve their commitment and commemorate their love to each other. The traditional choice of wedding attire for the groom is a tuxedo. However, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of in many places. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire. If you were to buy a tuxedo, the average cost would be somewhere between $300 and $500. This is not exactly the way to go when trying to save money on a wedding! If you do want to buy a tux, check in thrift stores, consignment shops and online to find discounted tuxes. Buying off the rack will cost you a lot more money. Typically, ... Read Full Story

So I came across an article today written by Dave Zinczenko that was entitled: What Makes a Man Marry? Hummm, interesting title to say the least so I had to read more, considering the author. Dave Zinczenko is the editor and chief of Men's Health magazine and the editorial director for a new men's magazine for men 40+ called Best Life. So interesting enough the article is very good. I've posted it here for you all to enjoy. Let me know what you think in your comments. Posted Tue, Jan 15, 2008, 8:37 am PST I have a friend who spent two weeks in ... Read Full Story

Having had three weddings, you would assume I 've had enough experience to write a book on the subject. Wrong! Possibly a book on how to get it wrong would be an easier task! I therefore place before you a few things you should bear in mind based on personal experience. Always remember what your bride looks like, particularly if you have been married several times before. I carry a photo to the ceremony just in case. Turn up at the right venue. Sounds obvious, but it's an easy mistake to make especially if you've had a drink or twenty the night before. There's ... Friday, Dec. 11... By Anita overcash As you all know, Creative Loafing's Boomer With Attitude columnist John Grooms has a lot to say. He takes to ranting on everything from politicians to, well, pretty much anyone and anything that gets in his head. It should come as no surprise then that he's gone and penned his thoughts to paper, with his latest book, Deliver Us From Weasels, which contains a...

You picked a good year to plan a wedding. No, really. With plummeting stock prices and soaring unemployment, this is the best time in a century-literally-for you to play the We-Can't-Afford-It card, allowing you to wiggle out of extravagant decor, gratuitous venues, and croquembouche wedding cakes.

GROOMS Rejoicer (Death by Audio) By Kimberly Chun Grooms is a slightly better name than Muggabears, the moniker of vocalist-guitarist Travis Johnson’s original teenaged bedroom recording project -- it errs on the side of blah-blankness rather than cute-grotesquerie. Regardless,...

When I was growing up, the brides and grooms on cake toppers all looked alike. Tiny plastic people. All the women wore the same shape of gown, all the men wore identical tuxedos. For the longest time, pretty much the only difference was what color flip hairdo the woman wore. Cake toppers have come a long [...]
