Affiliate Traffic

Since I haven't yet owned a site with a affiliate program I only can share some basic things I have learned about using affiliates to drive traffic by my reading and being an affiliate myself. There are a lot of webmasters use affiliates to help promote their websites. Having a lot of affiliates can generate traffic and sales for your site. If you have a website and decide to use affiliates to get more traffic and sales you have to pay the affilate a percentage of every sale they make. Generally this percentage needs to be high to attract the high quality affiliates who can generate a lot of traffic to your website. Some webmasters might not like the idea of giving up a large chunk of their sales to affiliates but on the other side of the coin they also don't have to pay for all of this extra traffic. They spend the money and do all the advertising for you to get the visitors to your pages. If your site converts visitors to sales well then both the affiliate and you will greatly benefit from having. There are many networks where you can find affiliates and will do all the tracking of the commissions for you. The largest 2 affiliate networks are Commission Junction and Clickbank which specializes in having websites that sell digital products.
