Hardware for nine US armored infantry divisions blocked in Pakistan?
Everyone knows that the NATO supply lines are crucial to the US war in Afghanistan. However there is discussion on what hardware is actually transported. The PPP claims that only non-lethal weapons are transported in the sealed containers on the sixteen wheelers. Many in the army however claim that arms to fight Pakistan are being sent to Afghanistan. The PPP and the liberal media mock Mr. Zaid Hamid, while the religious right, and PTI type of supporters like him a lot.
Zaid Hamid discusses the “stalemate” in Afghanistan on Russian TV made some astounding allegations. If these allegations are true, there is much the US has to do in terms of explanations. He said that the US is passing the buck to Pakistan for NATO and ISAF failures in Afghanistan. He made the astonishing claim that the US was transporting Abrams tanks, and infantry material through Pakistan to Afghanistan–hardware that it would not need for counter-insurgency.
He said that almost nine armored infantry division hardware are stuck in Pakistan–blocked in Pakistan. If this was true than it would explain the stoppage of NATO supply lines for such a long time. Pakistan has “confiscated” that hardware for “security reasons”.
Zaid Hamid said that the there is no possibility of peace in Afghanistan, the peace talks are a failure and the US and the allies will never accept the Talib demands of total withdrawal from Afghanistan.
