A soldier from San Jose was killed in Afghanistan Wednesday, according to the U.S. Department of Defense. U.S. Army 2nd Lt. Travis A. Morgado, 25, was killed when insurgents using an improvised explosive device attacked his patrol in Zharay, Afghanistan.
