What is it to be American?
What is it to be American? We’re the ‘home of the free and the brave’. But we don’t really live according to these ideals anymore. We take advantage of the fact that we’re free and bravery has turned into a cockiness. As Americans we feel that we are entitled to the biggest and the best of everything with little thought to our environment.
What is it to be American? In time of national disasters, we pull together as if we were one. Our heartstrings are pulled and tugged at when we are faced with an issue of injustice. And some of us still take our emotions out into the streets like Cindy Sheehan and stand up for what we feel is right.
I’m not trying to hate on our culture, but real things must be done in order to keep harmony. We’re not the only culture or country that exists. We share this Earth with millions of other people, some of which need our continued support to have a better life.
LiberateAfrica is dedicated to bringing awareness to the American people and figuring out constructive ways we can pull together to make our world a better place.
