Old Pueblo Historic District, Tucson, AZYou've always wanted to just travel and you are retiring within the next year or so.
Now you are beginning to think about selling the house, putting all the furniture in storage
and giving it a try.
So now is the time to take the leap!!!
You are in for so much fun. You can take the equity from your house, buy an RV free and clear have plenty left over to put down on a small condo or loft when you decide where you want to spend a small part of the year in a real house.
Life is good, your health is good, your family is grown.
So let me give you a little glimpse
of what the possibilities are.
MEXICO
Like the beach in Mexico? With the 35' RV that we drive, we could drive into Mexico and live in a park with other Americans. We have friends that stay in Puerto Vallarta.
There are several parks there that can be checked out on line.
The word I get is that the drive is easy until you get to Matzalan and then the roads are not the best.
This couple have been driving in and out of Mexico for years and see it as no problem.
You can get insurance at the border, and visa's are purchased inside the country. Just remember do to your research, get a passport and begin living the full time RVing style.
OTHER CHOICES!!!
Foreign country not your style? How about a spot on the beach in southern California? Or maybe on the gulf coast in Florida or Mississippi?
In fact, a quick search on Google will give you lots of choices.

ARIZONA
If you love the desert southwest as much as we do and want to travel in the summer, full time RVing is for you. Several of our friends here at Rincon Country East in Tucson go north in the summer. Some apply for Park Greeters at national and state parks. With a little responsibility they can camp for free in the prime spot. My husband have stayed in $1,00000000 camping spots in state and national parks. By checking with the state or national park services about restrictions on length and reservations, you and your family can RV and tent camp on the same site. Everyone is happy. In the state of Oregon they even have Yurts available for rent.
Here at Rincon Country East, we have so many activities that we have to pick and choose. We dance, sew, exercise, coffee/cocktail, wood work, make jewelry, play shuffle board, bocca ball, tennis and on and on. It is quiet here and the facilities are just gorgeous! There is a nice cross section of ages, singles, married couples, men and women, park models and Motor Homes. (Our motor home is set up for the winter, even though we have it up for sale in a park model neighborhood and we will might
live next door when it sells.) Rent is about $400+ per month for the space and we have paid for 5 month. Bicycles appear magically as the residents move in and the owner has updated the RV sites to award winning status. The maintenance crew keeps everything so beautiful for us. So there you go.

For those of you that love baseball, spring training here is Tucson allows you to see some great baseball. The Rockies, Chicago White Sox, and theArizona Diamondbacks all train and play in the area.
Come on down while there is still room. I am afraid that our little secret haven is not so secret any more.
What do you do every day?
I love the question "What do you do?" I cannot tell you how busy we are doing the things we would do normally; wash, buy groceries, golf, volunteer, attend church and become involved in activities there, play tennis, walk, read, blog (smile). We always spend a part of every day socializing with neighbors/friends. This time of year we eat outside and people just come over and join us. The days simply fly by.
NOTE: If we can help you in anyway, just click the envelop at the bottom of the blog and send us an email with your questions. We have done this for over ten years part time and have accumulated a great deal of 'savvy' over the years.
Information on the motor home is listed on Craigs List. We are actively seeking offers on our motor home. It never hurts to talk it over with us! Even if you are young and just want to travel, this is a great opportunity for families with animal and children. The coach has a queen sized bed, a sleeper sofa and a banquet that makes into a bed. We actually have shared this with our family and friends. It can turn out to be a wonderful investment for a group of people. (We have taken the depreciation hit, now someone else can enjoy the benefits!)
Have a great day.
