uninstalling apache
Hi
this is soo annoying :nono:
im using windows vista and i installed apache and it said the installation was successful however the apache monitor in my taskbar was red and said "no services installed" and localhost on my browser was not working
so i figured the problem must be that in the installation i set it to port 8080 instead of 80. I then went to control panel>programs installed and tried to remove apache but there was no listing of apache there :goof:
so then i just tried re-installing over the installation and this time i selected port 80 and it installed and the apache monitor now reads "Running all apache services" but when i type localhost in my browser it doesnt work
when i go to my httpd.conf file it says this
#Listen 12.34.56.78:80
Listen 8080
should this say Listen 80 instead? :injured:
i tried editing it to 80 but it gives me an error when i try to save the file which read "access to c:\...httpd.conf was denied"
im thinking i may need to uninstall and do a fresh installation but i dont know how to uninstall because apache isnt listed in my control panel programs list
helppppp!!!
