Victoria Azarenka and Agnieszka Radwanska Withdraw From New Haven

Agnieszka Radwanska, was leading the field at the Pilot Pen, but the number 10 in the world withdrew from the event. Radwanska will be replaced by Tsvetana Pironkova.
Victoria Azarenka, ranked 16 in the WTA tour, has also withdrawn from the New Heaven tournament that will begin on August 17. Azarenka was replaced by Sorana Cirstea.

There are no official reason for the withdrawals of these two great players but it's likely that they want week of rest after playing the Beijing Olympic Games, and before the US Open.

Agnes Szavay, world number 14th and the 2007 New Haven runner-up is now the highest-ranked woman in the Pilot Pen field. Other players that are still committed here are: Amelie Mauresmo, Maria Kirilenko and Alize Cornet.
