Reclaim illegal fuel surcharge costs

According to an article in the April issue of Moneywise magazine, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have agreed to pay out compensation to millions of UK and US passengers after being found guilty of illicitly fixing fuel surcharges. If you fell victim to this unlawful action you can now claim some of the flight costs.

Fuel surcharges where introduced in 2004, Virgin and BA are said to have came into an agreement to rise the price of fuel surcharges on long-haul flights. Passengers who took long-haul flights (lasting more than 7 hours) with either airline between 11August 2004 and 23 March 2006 are eligible to make a claim. You can get between £2 and £20 for each return flight depending on when you booked your flight.
