Anyone Can Fly A Blimp - in 1931 maybe!

Yet again the guys and gals over at modernmechanix have come up with a gem of an article from the history of airships and their operational useage.

Yes, the article is titled Anyone Can Fly A Blimp, and its all about how the articles writer (Andrew Boone) went up in the Goodyear Blimp Volunteer and ended up at the controls after just a few words of wisdom from the airships captain Verner Smith.

'Smithy' as he's know in the article, settled back in his seat to enjoy the scenery whilst the inexperienced (in terms of airships) writer took the controls for half an hour. Do you think that'll happen on one of the current fleet of Goodyear Blimps? No, neither do I.
