Three Airship Related Posts To See

I've come across no less than three good airship related posts today that I think are well worth a good look. They couldn't be more different either!

21st Century Airships have posted some info and pictures on the ongoing development and type certification of their sightseeing airship called the Voyager Airship, currently under construction in Ontario, Canada. The Voyager itself is not likely to fly until the Summer of 2009, the pictures on the site relate to the 130ft scale version being used for testing. Image (c) 21st Century Airships.



Airships - The Flying Giants is a fantastic looking board game reviewed on the boardgamegeek website. The aim of the game is to take your national (American, French, German, and Italian) airship company to the heights of excellence in a number of different categories. In the end of the game you would have helped to build the most famous (or infamous) airship of all time, The Zeppelin Hindenburg.

Lastly there is an interesting piece from Noblemania owner Mark Tyler Nobleman, a writer who is currently hoping to launch his next book onboard an airship operated by airshipman.com. It's interesting to read the article and you can almost feel the disappointment as he relaises that modern airships are not quite as spacious as the Zeppelin images he has posted on the article page.

All three articles are worth a read, but for the hardened airship fan I'd recommend a detailed read of the 21st Century Airship article. There is some good info about the differences between traditional blimps and their craft, engine placement and control surfaces spring to mind.
