Airship Ventures, a zeppelin company that has been leasing space at Moffett Field outside San Francisco since 2008, now is being used by NASA as a platform for remote sensing and atmospheric science measurements. There’s a lot of good news around at the moment if you’re a fan of the Zeppelin NT Airship.
With news that a Zeppelin could be flying over London this year, this would be the first appearence of a German built Airship in the capitals skys since the First World War. At least this time they’ll be there to offer the public a ‘birds eye view’ of London from the comfort of its 12 seat gondola.

It almost passed without notice on the internet, from what I've seen so far, but app.com have pointed out that it is indeed the 75th anniversary of the date on which the USS Akron airship disaster occured.

There was an interesting post today on the Goodyear Blimp Blog from Greg Poppenhouse, the pilot-in-charge of the Spirit of Goodyear in Akron, Ohio.
